MJC's fatwa on musicians

Feel free to read the article but essentially a locally produced CD has been banned by the Muslim Judicial Council because it contains a Qur'anic verse and the Christian prayer Our Father in the same song. The standard religious jargon and mumbo-jumbo but this bit has me puzzled -

The MJC subsequently issued a fatwa which stated that Islam frowned on music played with musical instruments.

hrm.. ok. Its kinda weird tho, i've heard worse like the disturbed - live 'down with the sickness' combo'd with their into is really bad.. other one comes to mind is skunk anansie - charlie big potatoe.. this one seems kinda tame. -shrug- i guess they should have asked for an opinion if it uses religious things.

Now, Yusuf Ganief, former Cape Town Festival chief executive officer, who sings to music composed by his wife, Lynne Holmes-Ganief, are considering legal action against the MJC for what they claim is an "unconstitutional fatwa" because they feel proper processes were not followed.

What are proper processes? Line someone's pocket?
