Anybody following? The Detroit Tigers swept the New York Yankees last night to reach the World Series. The St Louis Cardinals are currently 3-1 up against the San Francisco Giants so look like it's going to be a repeat of the 2006 World Series (with the Tigers winning this time!!)

Not a happy camper. :o

I watch the NFL, so I have nothing against American sports (granted, baseball is big in Asia and Central America) but how on earth can you watch baseball? I've tried and it just kills me it is so slow. I enjoy test match cricket but I just don't get baseball.

lol - I felt the same way about cricket tbh but if you watch enough of it . . . I grew up playing baseball and going to yankees games so it's in my blood. :)

The nice thing about baseball, which infuriates me about cricket, is that somebody always wins no matter how long they have to keep playing for.

Fair enough.

That's the bit that kills me, the waiting. I watched 4 innings of a Padres-Rockies game and saw nothing. I came back to ESPN and saw the Padres win 1-0 in the 10th innings. . . I could not have sat through all of that. But each to their own I guess, no harm.

That's because you were watching 2 of the worst teams in the league. Of course it was going to be a snore fest :p

I find baseball extremely boring ... Maybe its because I don't know what's happening.

Hah, true. Not that I know who to watch to be honest. I do loosely follow the Oakland Athletics, mainly because I support the football team from Oakland and they share that terrible stadium, so I thought I'd "follow" them. Made the postseason and got stomped though.

I also couldn't be bothered to watch it back in the day. But once I started getting to know the teams, players and a bit about how the game works, I got into it big time. I suppose it's like that with all sports though.

The A's did a lot better than expected. They pushed the Tigers to 5 games and if it wasn't for Verlander they would of had a chance of knocking the Tigers out. Definitely a team for the near future.

I watched the movie Moneyball over the weekend. Have you guys seen it? Now that made baseball exciting. :p It also gives me more reason to like the A's and I may pay more attention to them now. I like underdogs and it seems like they've made a habit out of managing to field competitive teams while having one of the smallest budgets.

Do you get baseball video games over here? That is what helped me to get my head around American Football, by playing Madden.
