MMS flagship warning - true?

AVG AntiVirus showed a warning message about an android virus called flagship which attaches itself to MMS messages and infects devices.

It says the virus can activate even if the MMS isn't opened and advises you disable "automatic MMS".

Anybody else had the message? Is it true? Is it possible?
