MMS's not downloading

Hey all

I hope someone can help. I've trawled around, but have yet to find a fix. I've got a Sony Xperia Z and today received two MMS messages. Well, sort of received, i.e. I have two items sitting in the messaging app marked as "Message could not not downloaded". I can long press on either a select "Download message", but after some time I just get two little black notifications at the bottom of the screen that say "Could not download message: (no subject) From: +27...." and "Could not download message. Please try again later"

Articles I've found suggested
a) I should turn off Wifi and ensure I have mobile data active active - done
b) Variously either enable auto-download or disable auto-download and force download manually - done
c) Clean out all APN's and got MTN to send me fresh MMS/WAP settings - MMS settings saved successfully.
d) For the WAP configuration I get an error "There was a problem with the configuration message. Your device settings will not be updated."

Still no luck...the two messages are still sitting there and trying to force the downloads have brought me no closer to success. Any help/suggestions/pointers appreciated.

I'm on vodacom with my Xperia Z and also had the some problem...sometimes it would download other times not, hell sometimes I couldnt even send a mms!!

I unintentionally fixed it when I put in another sim card (for downloading the recent update) and when I eventually put my old sim card back in and got vodacom to send me all the device settings and it is all working perfectly now.

I'm using the LTE APN now and not the internet.vodacom APN as I previously did....dont know if this makes a difference??

But it was my fault, I forgot to download the device settings when I first got the phone lol
