Whatever happens in next year’s elections, [as] long as I am still committed to for that dream of non-racialism and there are people in the DA who want to fight for that dream, they must come with me.

There was miscommunication around saying the DA has rejected race as a proxy. That is not true. We were very strong as the federal executive, we came out and I was direct about saying this is our stance on BBBEE. I have maintained the position that race is still a proxy for disadvantage and that inequality is still born primarily out of issues of race.

Is that not a contradiction, how can you have non-racialism and laws based on race?
If they do nothing then it is a contradiction to their commitment to non-racialism as it means they are okay with the race based inequalities currently besetting the country. I saw that Mmusi interview with Chris Basson and he states that they will ensure that there's uplifting of the disadvantaged from education all the way up, as your article states most of this disadvantage is rooted in race due to the past.

Can you not uplifting ALL people who is disadvantaged, why must it be based on race?
Some need a competitive edge others dont.

In that light no one needs direct barriers enforced on them to prevent them from advancing themselves. It affects everyone in South Africa negatively.

General disadvantage is or should part of any government program but artificial prejudice based disadvantage may merit special attention.

Do you think that these BEE laws help economic growth, because in my view that is the only why to uplift the poor in a meaningful way?

Not with the way the ANC are implementing and business just doing it to make up numbers.

They don't want you in leadership anymore because of your support of BEE, don't quit...split the party into two and take the black voters with you.

You show your colour attitude well?

The worst thing to happen to SA.

The DA is a pushover now and the ANC has the election in the bag without effort.
