Mnet - Subscription fee

So I'm not in the coverage area to use Drift. Seems Mnet my only option, as its the cheapest to watch Super15

I tried reconnecting my Mnet last year in April because I still had my old decoder. Phoned Multichoice to reconnect my service, they said they will not be doing new analog Mnet connections anymore, only Dstv. Something to do with the analog to digital TV conversion.

This makes sense, they are bringing out the new decoder and service at June 2011 latest: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/17661-MultiChoice-planning-big-things-for-DVB-.html

So should I buy a new decoder(haven't used mine in 4 years) now(as in today)? Or wait till they bring out their new decoder? Rugby starts in 4 weeks I think

I have an analogue M-Net decoder in my room for rugby only. That's all I watch, I download everything else. R290 is very expensive, but should I pay R550 for DStv Premium and still ONLY watch rugby? Don't think so.

As far as I know, Mnet or Multichoice does not sell the Mnet decoders anymore.

Okay, 2011 MNET and DSTV Premium subs:
DSTV premium, 559 pm
Access fee, 65 pm (HD and dual view)
Mnet, 297.60 pm

If you pay your annual sub in advance you get the 12th month free.

but you can't activate any mnet stand alone packages anymore at R297.60 - got to wait for the STB's

STB's? What is that?
I planned on getting mnet later this month, or next month :( Will also look for a decoder somewhere, 2nd hand

the new set top boxes that are coming out for digital tv. if you buy the old black mnet decoder, you won't be able to activate it at all. its a waste of money.

well this blows. DSTV too expensive :( My area dont support Drifta
When/will there be new mnet decoders available to support digital tv?

ah man, was looking forward to getting MNET :(
thnx for the info guys.
