Bidorbuy represents Africa’s largest online market place where 1,3m buyers and sellers come together to buy and sell merchandise, services and any other marketable goods.
You are a functional software tester with a passion for mobile applications. You maintain high quality code and deliver a high quality product.
You engage with the various software projects in each level of its lifecycle and provide testing coverage of specified user stories.
You focus on testing mobile applications and are primarily responsible for working hands on with mobile devices and testing the native applications on such devices.
You have extensive experience with the various mobile devices, their operations and testing their applications. You are responsible for key phases in our SDLC. You provide highlevel technical diagnosis when a problem is encountered. You use application logs, data analysis, and correlation to existing documented issues to effectively distribute to the correct resolution teams and ensure they are process efficiently. You interact with others across the organization, both locally and remotely, in working to ensure that the product is delivered with high quality and adherence to the request.
You will work within a technical team of 10 staff and will report directly to the CTO. You will be responsible for testing Bidorbuy’s mobile smartphone applications (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile), mobile websites and our main transactional website.
The candidate is expected to be effective as an individual contributor, team player, and a champion for results and incremental improvement.
We are interested in candidates with 2+ years of demonstrable testing experience and who have had a background of working on large-scale web and/or mobile initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional programming skills, an understanding of user-centered design principles, and the ability to turn business and user requirements into elegant user interfaces and compelling interactive experiences.
Salary: up to 28K/pm (depending on experience and skill-set).

Desired skills and experience
Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience testing native mobile applications (iOS, Android, and BlackBerry) and web based applications
2+ years relevant experience
Certifications in Software Testing and/or Software Development a plus
Experience with test methodologies
Experience in working with agile or other iterative fast paced projects
Ability to work with basic SQL queries for verifying data a plus
Prior work experience with Jira, Confluence, Testlodge a plus
Experience in e-commerce, retail merchandising/marketing, advertising, product development, e-commerce or related fields a plus
