Can any Network Economist explain this to me:
Why are Mobile Broadband prices in South Africa so expencive compared to ADSL? My common sense tells me that ADSL is the one that should be expencive because of all that physical cables, poles etc

I am not a Network economist, but how much do you think does those Cell Towers cost? There is a LOT of equipment in there that aint cheap!

I have asked this same question myself, but the only conclusion that I can come up with is the cost of the towers and their maintenance.

Just my 2c's!

From 0 to about 10GB per month, mobile (3G/HSPA/LTE/iBurst) is actually cheaper than ADSL.

That's a misconception on your side. As per above, on the lower end, it's actually cheap and the viable option.
