Hi, I'm looking for the best mobile data for gaming. Mostly EU games, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch the likes.

Anyone have any experience with this?

You lag on everything, I'm looking for the best. (meaning on which I would experience the least lag, not which completely eliminates lag from the universe :D)

You can't really tell until your try them at your location. Telkom LTE works OK for me. About 250ms to the UK, but I think Vodacom will get better results.

Well for gaming the best would be LTE but if you have a tower that is not congested on 3G that would works too.

I would recommend Vodacom and MTN but Telkom LTE is another good option if the tower is not congested. Telkom has a lot of people on it's network now because of uncapped and cheap capped LTE deals so if you not going to use a ton of data Vodacom or MTN first then Telkom.

Vodacom prepaid option *123# option 2 for double data deals there are some decent deals there.
MTN Data4Keeps to buy data that last for a year which is good for gaming only otherwise if you going to use a lot of data Axxess or Afrihost with MTN APN.
Telkom LTE is also a good choice with R99 for 1GB bundle or R99 for 1GB FreeMe gives you a ton of extra value too.

Yip.. what they said (Points upwards)

if I were you. Get a good LTE Router (one with nice antenna's) B593 or better. Get 1gig on a Vodacom Simcard. Also get a 1gig on a Telkom Simcard - Maybe buy a 1gig Vodacom and try it for a month. and then Telkom 1gig the next month. (unless u gonna burn 2gig anyway.. then buy both.

Put your LTE router (or LTE device - this could be a LTE Enabled cellphone also) - Close to a window.. facing the closest tower. Maybe elevate it a bit also. - put it on a box or something.(trust me even 30cm elevation could mean you get 20% less latency issues or actual better ping)

Try all the corners of your house / the open window area. If your not sure where the tower is. (Ping results show you the info. ping google.co.za ) - What your looking for is low pings and the least amount of timeouts (timeouts will occur on wireless.. packets drop.. solong as it's not a couple after eachother.. it should be maybe one very 5-10seonds.. not 2-3 in a 5-10 second span)

The difference between LTE and 3G is huge.
I wanted to game at a friends who didn't have net, so I set up a hotspot. At first I had LTE, had around 190ms stable ping to LoL EUW, np. I picked up a call though, so it defaulted back to 3G, my ping randomly started fluctuating between 210-400ms, also had packet loss.

If you want to game, LTE is a lot better, I would try and avoid 3G.

I game on Telkom (MTN Roaming) just fine, very stable with the occasional fluctuation or crap. It's not bad, and its not great. I'd not really advise it, but if you REALLY have to then go with a decent backbone provider, been gaming etc on 3G/HSDPA for almost 4 years and only really had about 50 hours max ? of total issues. Moving over to Fibre though because its a heck of a lot cheaper, 30GB of 3G Data this month cost me R1400! Expensive, when 20Mbit/120GB+1000GB(Midnight-6AM) with WA (+Free fibre Install + Router) for only R788/mo. Axxess even offers the naked Fibre lines, and then you can sign up with someone else for Data, although you do need routers etc, but to be honest, having the fibre pulled and spliced is the biggest task if you do consider it, ADSL is too much of a pain. Good luck man.

LTE Data is sooo pricey. it would be worth it.. if we could get it down to say... R1000 for true uncapped (no AUP.. no limits.. No restrictions, No Shaping)

Your true gamer.. and Person that uses the connection for the house... (Would have a couple of cellphones and a tablet. And a computer or two)

So you might have like 5-6 devices connected to the LTE. Having windows Updates. Cellphone updating it's apps via wifi, Tablet doing its updates and downloads.) The devices being used for YouTube, Netflix and general browsing.

Say a pc or two.. average have 5-6games on them (Doom, Diablo3, Path of Exile, League of Legends, No mans sky, CSGO, GTA5 etc)

These games update quite often.. (not even talking about the reinstallation data. Some of these games are like 10gig or upto 35gig)

Data flows like water on LTE...
