Mobile graphics 970 vs 980

Is it worth paying extra 7-10k for a laptop with only diffrence 970 vs 980 ?

I normally play games at 1024x768 not really worried about 1080 and 4k

1024x768 Both these GPUs are 1080p capable.
Get the 970 if you're used to the that low resolution.

Also to add, there is a difference between a GTX980m and a GTX980. You can get a laptop with a GTX980, and yes, it is worth it, depending on the resolutions you play at. At 1024x768 you might get away with a GTX960m as well.
