When you first receive any phone there is usually what the phone reads as half power on the battery. This has been the case with all three of my last newly bought phones. Motorola C350, Nokia 6610, Nokia 6680 and I imagine it will be the same with the N95.

Is it safe to use the phone to set the settings, contacts, watever else you want to see on the phone. Let it die dead.. then charge for the ??16 hours?? - run down all the way and die again.. charge for ??8 hours?? die again.. then use as you like?

What is the correct procedure?

Personally I never really let it charge for an extensive period of time, even though I know I should. I had the SE K700i and now the N80, and neither of them have given me any battery troubles. When I get the phone I plug it in, switch it on and start using it.

Even if the battery life starts decreasing after a year or 2 just buy a new battery, it's just like R200-R300
