hey , I was just wondering what the hell that plug on the back of all cellphones are? (its round, usually proped with a rubber cap , copper coloured and has a single coper colour pin.)

They are used for external antenna's.

In the old days before bluetooth car kits, the phone would sit in a carkit cradle, with a little plug that goes into that connector. The cellphone signal would thus be carried outside of the car, making it "safer" to be in the car.

Now days, certain poeple have use for them - but alot of manufacturers are leaving them off.
