So Yesterday I had over R40 airtime and a bit of data. This morning, while I was surfing the phone in the car must have gotten a few whatsapps or something and used the last bit of data. But instead of Vodacom cutting my internet off, it switched over to out of bundle data or something and I had R00,00 when I got out of the water. It's not the first time something like that happened, but I've had enough.
Like I don't mind them cutting my internet off... Just don't want them to touch my airtime that I should be using to make voice calls.

What about other service providers? Do they all scam you like that, or does some of them give you the option at least?

Telkom mobile (Freeme package). You get an sms stating that your internet is suspended until you buy another bundle.
Works like a charm.

MTN prepaid (or contract with APN) + Axxess...

You can disable out of bundle charges on MTN prepaid. There's USSD code to disable it but I forgot what it is. I've been using it for ages and I can guarantee you that it works.

Wait wait... Don't port yet. @jannie said they are attending to this. It should have been resolved by the time you read this. Give it a minute.

On contract? Cause it doesn't suspend it the data for me on prepaid. I do get the smses.

We're on Telkom Mobile.

Our monthly credit limit is R150k - HTF they got to that only they know. It's 20x the average monthly invoice.....

You can manage your OOB yourself through their online portal. Max additional (extra to the monthly contract amount) monthly spend on a permanent basis or on a once off basis. Set both to zero - Problem solved :)
