Mobile Torque, anybody using their service?

Hey all,

So I got an email today for a wireless service. ADSL sucks here and fibre is not in my area, so I'm trying to get a wireless service.

I got an email from Mobile Torque for 10 down and up, uncapped (hopefully no throttle), which I am really interested in!

Just want to know if anyone tried this company and how good is it if you have?

Any news on this yet? Do you have more info now regarding their services?
 
I am on their microwave service, it is being resold to me via VOX Teelcom, after an initial shaky start they have recently scored a few reliable high sites and the uptime is now solid.

Speeds are decent and so is the price. The only thing lacking is the service from VOX service desk.

Hi there.

So in terms of service and reliability, are they worth it?

Also, did they have to install an antenna?
 
I cant answer re their service (I'm with VOX) but their reliability is good for my sites. They installed the antenna for me and very quickly I might add.

How much is their 10mbps up & down (uncapped) service? Don't see any pricing on their site & want to know if it's something I might be interested in before giving them my details (you have to request a quote from them)

It's R1199 and R999 for the once of install :)
 
Thought I would do a little update.

Unfortunately they could not do a line of site test today. Seems like i have to call my body corporate or something like that to get permissIon to go onto the roof.

Let us know how that works out for you, i have also just heard good things about mobile torque and in my area adsl is just as shakey so i'd like to give them a try too

Did you manage to get the LOS done? I'm quite keen to find out how they rate

Hey. I finally got authorization from my Body Corporate today. I'm gonna give Mobile Torque a ring later today to try an arrange a LOS for tomorrow at 16:30 :)

Okay, confirmed. They will be doing a LOS test tomorrow at 16:30. They then said that if all is good, It will take 2-3 days to install (they seem to work on Saturdays as well).

Will update more tomorrow once they come.

I did have a look at their site, but the upload speeds worry me a lot. I game on EU servers, so I'm going to need good upload lol.
 
As a WISP owner we have clients on 4 Mbps Down / 1 Mbps Up (Lite package) and they game without complaints. Maybe get in touch and see what they can do. Hope you come right

Hey there. I had a look at your site. Seems you guys don't seem to cover Midrand :(
