can anyone tell me what wifi on a phone is used for and plzzz name all the capabilities it has

some phones act as a access point,so you can connect to the internet from a wifi device,that all what more is there to say but it is just an acess point

Is it possible to connect to my pc at home (lets say im at a hotspot away from my house) and download music or something via wifi???

If you have a AP or a wifi card that can act as a AP then you should be able to connect the two together.
