There are 2 WiMax standards (mobile and fixed)
This article discusses the mobile wimax compared to 3g/HSPDPA and that it's more expensive to deploy as you need more base stations for mobile Wimax than for 3g/HSDPA to cover an area. Thus we are probably unlikely to see the likes of Wimax Mobile phones and we will have to settle for an fixed WiMax antenna at our homes for fixed WiMax.
So as I understand it if Neotel decides to go Fixed Wimax route then we will have a Wimax antenna most probably on our roofs and our house would still need to be wired.
or if Neotel goes the mobile WiMax route if won't be cheap to implement and maintain due to the cost of all the base stations that would be needed and other wireless broadband networks would be that much cheaper to implement and run making Neotel broadband offering uncompetitive.
