Responding to your post on Mobility, this white paper does a good job of highlighting some of the challenges with getting SSL and IPSec to offer security, management and productivity when GPRS and 3G coverage get scrappy. It goes on to outline a secure client-server software-only offering in use by about 1,500 enterprises worldwide with a total of over 300,000 client devices.
