I would go for the Gigabyte. Seems to be the most well-rounded board out of the lot, unless you want all of those fancy extras that the crosshair offers.

Intel CPU & chipset (NB) and any of MSI, Gigabyte or Asus boards are good.
AMD if you want to go budget and are prepared to replace it all in 2 yrs or so.

Whatever drake, he won't need to replace everything after 2 years. If he WANTS to get a new cpu in the future, then he can seeing as the boards are AM3 and have DDR3 support.

Intel = performance king, for a price
Amd = budget performance king

Obviously if he can afford an i7 system then that'll be the best option, but amd is perfectly fine.

Well in that case let's narrow it down for the OP, would you go nForce or AMD chipset?

QUICKLY go to prophecy and get the crosshair there , its on special for R1600 and i think it ends today

awesome board dude, wot cpu u gonna run?

Shotto, ..ye thawt I'd jump on that special while the iron was hot per se.
Well I'm upgrading gradually, so I'll see how much further I can push my E2180 (currently at 3150 on a p5ne-sli) on a Hyper TX2.

On the cards is a Thermalright 128se and a Q9400/Q9450/Q9550. Will have to keep a constant eye on all the classifieds.

Quik's alter ego :D

The guy is asking about amd not asking if he should amd or intel, so either help him with his decision or go be fanboy somewhere else :D

Thanks killadoob your right. It's turned into a intel thing. And have not received any help here.

Thanks to Sheepbot for the input on the board.

And by the i've had a AMD for 4 & half years now. And it's done fine till now. Plays most games, and does the job. so now for a upgarde:D

I got a corei7 920 from my work as i do intense Graphic Design for games and other stuff. But can't use it for personal stuff.

And it's not worth the price for performance in the corei7 920 to the Phenom x4 955BE. Unless you get the corei7 975XE 3.33GHz, for R11 000 to see pure performance.

Looks like i'm not getting a answer or any suggetions on the boards i asked. so thanks to the people that help me.

Hey I tried. If you got my point, pick by the chipset on the board.

Dual cards are overrated anyway...I would rather have a single, more powerful card than two weaker cards. Other than Sli or Crossfire, the current comparable Ati/nforce chipsets are pretty much the same.

I'll stick with my first choice of the gigibyte, but you can't go wrong with the M4A79T Deluxe either. They're both great boards. Just out of interest, what cpu do you plan on getting Amphibious?

I'm gonna be using the 955 BE processor or the 965 BE processor when that one comes out.
