modem hanging computer

Hi Guys,

Just upgraded my laptop to a duel core Toshiba with Intel. The USB modem causes the computer to hang at certain times. I also had this problem when I upgraded the desktop computer and eventually switched off the heaperthreading.

Any idea on how to overcome this problem with a duel core computer. Would I be better off buying a PCMCIA card instead

If you are willing to fork out just over R200, then go to a NoWire store and get yourself an ethernet cable for your modem. It will sort the problem.
