What area do you live in, I just want to know so that I'll nver move there:p
LOL Alberton, But does not matter where you stay. When I was still involved with PC Sales on a daily basis, I used to love lightning, because no matter what you do.. A direct strike will go through anything and everything!

I just ended up on the recieving end again :(

Help :(

Argh help :(

I am having no joy with this since storm...

Telkom even came out and dont know what problem is! :(

My modem will now connect for about 6 hours tops then get knocked off SAOL ...and it wont connect till +- 2/3 Hours later. This has only happend since storm....

The Telkom tech who came out this Eve...Said it was most likely NOT My modem and something is damaged between my house and the mini box to the Exchange.

When the storm did hit me...My Modem/PC/Everything was plugged in...However the modem does still run fine...I can access all routing/ Lan Works ok...and once it connects its ok...

However when it goes down...I get non stop sync light flashing...
and the log is as follows...

* Note i changed the Login to XXX

Yes time is wrong, dunno how to set it :P

But in a nutshell that is what i got since storm :( I dont beleive this Techie is gonna fix it

Do i still blame Telkom? Or is it looking more SAOL Side?

Help :D

I've seen that with lightning damaged routers/modems before. But it could be something else.

Have you got another router/modem? If not try get one to test. Plug it in let it run, if it doesn't not drop, you know its the modem.
Also try a test account if you can get your hands on one to see if it is your SAOL account

If all the above is clear then you can blame telkom, and not stop until the sort things out! :)

BTW.. I remember hearing somewhere that certain ISP's would have their IP resets set shorter as you get closer to there Cap.. are they doing that, does SAOL do it, and how close are you to your cap

Happy Days :D

Problem fixed :D

Was not my side...Techie came back this morning as promised.....Gave me a lot of Telkom gossip too :D

Anyway the problem was at UMC....Card was hit by lightning... He showed me....Had bits n pieces off of it... *shows what nature can do* and it stank :p

Wow....Really good compliments for the Ground Tech Crew
