Modem synchs at higher speed then exchange

Hi.

Apparently my exchange can only handle up to 4mb, but my modem is synching at 8mb.

I am not able to get internet access although I am connecting through to the ISP.

Could this be a reason why?

No it is not the reason why, sounds more like your port still needs to be activated.

The website you used to check the max speed of your exchange is probably using outdated data, that is all.

I phoned Telkom and they said that I needed to validate the connection. I googled it and found the Telkom site and did an online verification.

All seems to be fine. My modem is still synching at 8mb.

Just with my exchange was 10mb
