ok, we changed our telkom modems username & password from the get go and changed it to bridge mode...

Problem, lost the username & password during a format, any possible way still be able to get into the modem to change some settings or am I screwed?

Reset by holding in little button at the back and then switching modem on. Takes about 20 secs. Then you will log in with Admin, Admin and change settings as required including new password.
