If one is true then two should also be allowed without bemoaning two. Either way the OP is based on that and I tend to lean towards modesty is overrated, a body is a body.

Both are true, however that which you phrase won't bode well with conservative views where they can be modest too. I guess, as I always say, it comes down to perspective. I know liberal people who aren't open to nudity. It is a people thing, some are shy, some are possessive, etc.

Nobody should treat their SO as property, in my view.

No.
Asking, would generally indicate good manners.
Simply putting it it the bum without asking has been known to create socially awkward moments.

Modesty is not shouting "yee har" once you've put it up the bum.
