Mokgoro Report: When will Ramaphosa act?

did they do the right thing to remove zuma? ==> no.

these two idiots are too small, my feeling is 50/50 they will be removed from the positions.

or may be just an election-engineering .....

Why do you think these 2 have any backing in Parliament...

The Zupta crowd have tossed them aside like used condoms because they have zero purpose anymore. Even if they are restored to their positions in the NPA, Shamila will be wary of giving them any important cases because they are tainted in the legal fraternity and will not be welcomed in the court system. (this of course assumes that the challenge to have them disbarred again is upheld, then they can't hold their positions in the NPA anyway)

Well colour me surprised and I am happy to admit being wrong.
Were you also surprised when he acted on the Nugent report? I think you were just giving him the third degree for no reason at all, of all the commissions established so far he has acted accordingly on the reports. It is now two out of four, hopefully you'll give him the benefit of doubt next time?

Pretty strong wording from Ramaphosa: https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/ramaphosa-to-jiba-you-lied-to-me-20190426
Former Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) Nomgcobo Jiba "lied" to President Cyril Ramaphosa, and should be fired immediately, according to the president’s letter addressed to her.

In his letters to Jiba and former Special Director of Public Prosecutions, Lawrence Mrwebi, Ramaphosa said the findings against them by the Mokgoro Inquiry were of a "very serious nature".

There's no pleasing some people. Are people now dissatisfied with the latest developments?

That didn't go down well:
"Your request to be appointed in a senior position in the Public Service cannot be acceded to because of the findings of dishonesty and disregard for the courts that have been made against you in the Inquiry report.

"These findings would preclude your appointment to such a position as these are qualities that are required of all senior public servants," the president wrote.

Hopefully they will be struck from the roll as well.
Parliament special committee meeting will decide the matter?

Decision stands unless reversed?
struck off the roll?
that requires lawyers to do the right thing. Lawyers stick together. Going to take forever for them to be struck off the roll?

Another doomed fightback: https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/...e-heads-to-court-over-mokgoro-report-20190808
Former senior prosecutor Nomgcobo Jiba has approached the Western Cape High Court, challenging Justice Yvonne Mokgoro's report which found she was unfit for office.

Jiba launched the judicial review application on Wednesday, her lawyer Zola Majavu confirmed to News24.

In the notice of motion filed in court, Jiba is asking the court to order President Cyril Ramaphosa and the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) to reinstate her to the position of deputy national director of prosecutions position "with all associated employment benefits with immediate effect".

She believes section 12(6)(c) and section 12(7) of the Act should be declared unconstitutional in that the requirement of a simple majority of Parliament for the removal of the National Director, Deputy National Director, Director and Special Director of the Public Prosecutions rather than a two thirds majority is inimical to prosecutorial independence.

Jiba's papers argue that the terms of reference for the Mokgoro Inquiry into her fitness to hold office be reviewed and set aside on the basis that they amounted to an "unconstitutional investigation into binding court judgments and order and/or violated the principle of prosecutorial independence".

"I point out the race of the suspects because I know that if the roles were reversed and a black policeman had overseen the murder of over twenty (20) white suspects, I would be regarded as a heroine for prosecuting such an accused."
Looks like she received lessons in fallacious arguments right here on MyBB

Johannesburg - President Cyril Ramaphosa has made a string of appointments at the National Prosecuting Authority, including the appointment of Advocate Ouma Rasethaba as the Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions.
