Monitor advice - 3 monitors off this card?

I have a GT610 1GB graphics card in my PC. It currently runs 2x LCD monitors - one for browsing/email and general office suite work and the other runs CCTV software displaying live footage from 8 camera's.

I want my second monitor back for spreading my workspace over the 2 monitors. The HDMI port on the back of the card is not being used yet. If I bought a 32inch TV, and I used the HDMI out from the card to the TV and moved the CCTV there, would this effectively give me a 3 minitor setup using this card or does the HDMI duplicate/nullify one of the existing monitor ports?

I had a card similar to that. I could not run 3 monitors with it using the 3 outputs. Once the third was connected one of the other screens would switch off. I used a USB to DVI converter to get my third screen working. The refresh rates were quite bad so you won't be able to watch videos on that screen unless you have USB 3 but I found it was perfectly fine for using email and MS office.

To get 3 screens working I think the cheapest card now will be a HD7770 (1GB DDR5). I had one of those running 3 screens perfectly. I'm sure you can pick one up second hand for around the R600 mark

Seems only 2 monitors.

If you check on the Nvidia GT 610 specs it says only multi-monitor support, not 3 or more (like here)

You could always enable the onboard graphics, assuming the motherboard has it and you should be able to run 2 screen of the graphics card and 1 using onboard display.

How is this done? The motherboard does have on board VGA as I used that before I added the video card, but I have always known that adding a graphics card overrides the onboard graphics - how does one re-enable to achieve your proposal?

Those were the olden days, if you check in your BIOS you should see something along the lines of IGD Multi-Monitor, that's what MSI calls it, enable that and it works.

Also make sure you have the proper drivers installed for your motherboards graphics card or you wont be able to use both the motherboard graphics and the graphics card together.
