Hi All,

I am planning on getting a 2nd montitor for my PC. I currently have a BenQ T2200. It is a 22" HD LCD. As usual when buying something for a PC the range of options is getting really confusing.

Im thinking of getting a 23" or 24" HD LED. Im not interested in 3D. I want to limit the price to around R2200. What would you recommend getting?

I presume there's no problem with the 2nd monitor being bigger than the 1st and the one being LCD vs LED?

I will be predominantly using the screens for work, but also do a bit of gaming.

thanks!

Thanks for the info. Ill check that monitor out.

Anyone else with suggestions?

My old monitor doesn't use an hdmi port (my graphics card does have an hdmi port though). So I presume it will be fine having the old monitor using another type of port with the new monitor using an hdmi port?

Does your graphics card have 2 DVI outputs? I think it's better to use those than HDMI.

Blue (usually), smaller port = VGA, analogue
White (usually), larger port = DVI (HDMI-audio), digital
HDMI = DVI+audio, digital

DVI/HDMI are best.

Based on what? Picture quality will be identical on both.

I've got a HIS ATI Radeon HD5850. It's got two DVI ports and one HDMI port.

Would it be best to have both monitors using the DVI ports rather than the old monitor on the DVI and new one on HDMI?

Nope. Indifferent.
