Hi,

What monitor should I buy...
R3500 max
144Hz

Seems to be very difficult G-Sync monitors?

Does Free sync work on Nvidia?

How does the Free sync work for G sync? I see the list on nvidia site but that is very limited

That particular model doesn't feature FreeSync, so G-Sync will not work with it when enabled via the Nvidia drivers.

If I were you, I'd rather pick up this: https://www.evetech.co.za/dell-s2419hgf-gaming-monitor/best-deal/4674.aspx instead.

A little bit more expensive yes, but at least you'll benefit from the fact that you'll be able to enable G-Sync via the driver setting. I bought the 27" variant of that monitor earlier in the year and it's been pure bliss using it. Don't stare yourself blind at the list on Nvidia's website. There are a LOT of monitors out there that are G-Sync capable via FreeSync (like the one I linked).

Also, yes, Evetech hasn't been favorable for a lot of people here (see the link that @DrJohnZoidberg linked), however, my experience with them have only been positive with everything I have bought from them.

Good luck!

PS: Just keep in mind that for G-Sync to work on FreeSync monitors, you MUST use the DisplayPort input. It won't work via HDMI.

I've never had any issues with them, everything I've returned they replaced or gave me credit.

Thanks for the info

As many have said FreeSync works. You just need a decent FreeSync monitor.
I'm not sure yet if it is certified, but it has displayport which is essential for that. I've had my eye on this monitor now for a few weeks.

The nice thing about Newegg is that you can sort by new-old. Newer monitors are usually better monitors. And I just check the reviews of those. This one gets very good reviews. Oh pardon... price.

Maybe something like this

Still a bit over your price, but gamers seem to like it. Also has DisplayPort. 1080p though.

Just thought I'd point out that the monitor I linked for you is on special for R3499 this weekend, should you still be interested :D

I would still rather spend the extra R500 and get the AOC 24G2.
