Monitor recommendation

Good Morning

I am currently researching on which PC monitor brand to buy based on the following:
Durability and longevity. The use of the monitor is for general office tasks, minor coding and minor video editing (no that intensive).

Size: 24~27 inch but 27 inch it was said to be overdoing it since the use of the monitor is not resource heavy tasks.

I see Dell and Samsung comes highly recommend but some review says Samsung monitors don't last more than 4 years. The budget for the monitor is R4k max.

I will like your recommendations based on your experiences.

I have a Samsung that's 20 years old where I had two Dell's crap out one within 90 Days and the other after 2 years and a LG after 1 years use. Luck if the draw I guess.

What nonsense is this..? The size of the monitor has nothing to do with resource intensive tasks..

That said, your 4k budget rules out 27" monitors as you really do not want a 1080p 27" monitor, it's going to be a bad time..

As for brands, I have a 11 year old 24" Samsung monitors and a few 8+ years old dell monitors, in the P series range.. all working just fine..

Those were obviously made years ago, so can't be compared too much with what is made today..

Don't focus too much on the brand for now.. look at all possible options within your budget and use case and then narrow down from there based on reviews and ratings etc..

Yeah for R4k you are going to have to get a 24" 1080p.... R5-10k for 1440p and R15-25k for 2160p.

24" is the top for 1080p, 27-32" is the range of 1440p.

Your main problem at your price limit is VA vs IPS for eyestrain which no one has any kind of consensus on.... it's annoying.

Some purists like WA hate lower pixel density, but imo there's nothing wrong with 1080p on a 27", especially for office use. I'd much rather have the extra size.

Top notch advice here, there's nothing wrong with either brand. Sometimes you get a dud, but that's what warranties are for.

Agreed again. Most monitors all use the same few panel manufacturers, they just wrap their own electronics around that, so just google for reviews to see if they messed up or if its decent.

Both my reasonably price Samsung and LG monitors colours are not accurate.

When working on word, the colours were so out, I thought I was using the incorrect colours, but on my laptop it was correct.
