So I've got one of these (https://www.wootware.co.za/lg-27ul5...md-radeon-freesync-hdr10-desktop-monitor.html), which recently got an elbow through it and the panel is cracked.
I reached out to asolution.co.za who seem to be LG's authorised agents for repairs, and long story short the repair would cost more than buying a new one from Wootware (even discounting the fact that Evetech seem to have them for nearly R2k less at the moment).
It's not a critical issue that the screen get fixed at this point as I have others, but I'm loathe to just throw it away and buy a new one. That general practice just grates me because it only encourages wasteful throwing stuff away rather than repairing.
Obviously ASolution don't recommend that I work through third-party repair people at all but I reckon I've got nothing to lose at this point, the screen is already broken and effectively e-junk.
Does anyone know someone or something which may breathe new life into a dead monitor? I'm in Cape Town area if it helps.
