Ok, bought a brand new SamSung 2232GW 22' screen and received it yesterday.

Plugged it in, switched on my PC played a bit of COD 4(hour @ most) online without any problems, switched off my PC...

Halve hour later switched back on again and BAM monitor keeps turning of automatically?

Anyone know why this is happening or could it be a hardware failure?

Using Vista Ultimate..

Help please :(

I'd recommend you download the latest drivers for the monitor..
And see if that resolves the problem, but I am doing home work atm, to see what the problem is seems you not the only one with the problem..

Ok, but is this a driver issue or a hardware issue?

I cant understand why it keeps shutting down by itself, tried analog and Digi but with both the same happens...

Could this have something to do with my graphics card driver?
Im using a 8800GT with the latest drivers?

Eish, I found this :(

"If the screen on your monitor goes off a few seconds after you turn the monitor on, blanks out, is dimming, or doesn't go on at all, it's likely that the monitor's backlight is failing.

However, before you do anything else, you should run a self-test to determine whether the problem is the monitor or something else. To run a self-test, follow these steps:

1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.
3. Turn on the monitor. Depending on your monitor, one of the Check Signal Cable figures shown below appears.

Note: While in the Self-Test mode, the monitor's LED power indicator remains green and the Check Signal Cable figure moves around on the screen.

* If the monitor does not light up when you perform the self test, most likely the monitor backlight has failed.
* If the monitor is dim, most likely the monitor backlight is failing.
* If no Check Signal Cable figure appears, there is a problem with your monitor.
* If you see the second figure, and one of the colored squares shown above within it does not appear, there is a problem with your monitor.
* If you see one of the Check Signal Cable figures as they appear above, and the screen is well lit, the problem your are having is probably with your video controller, video cables, video card, or computer system. Your monitor is functioning properly.

If you did not see a Check Signal Cable figure, a colored square did not appear, or your monitor remained dark or dim, your monitor needs service.

Looks like the back light is failing, so i'll have to send it back again :(
