Hi all.

I need to be able to monitor the usage that members of staff are using as lately our internet has been quite slow. We currently run a 10MB uncapped business line so speed shouldn't be an issue. We have about 19 members of staff that are connected at once.

We are using ClearOS Enterprise Version 5.2 as our Firewall - is there somewhere in there that I can see who is slowing us down so much? Is there a setting I can enable to block all torrent or peer downloads but set it that it only allows certain IP addresses to download through peer-to-peer?

Sorry for all the questions but need to get this sorted out. Any help will be appreciated.

I use this http://www.kerio.com/control and it works great. Full control over your network.

I tried literally all the free and open-source variants and they are not as good as Kerio. Well, that may have changed now. Was 3 years back I trialled the options then selling on just paying for something that did all I wanted.

EDIT: ClearOS was my favorite non commercial option and used it for quite a while. Does not give the same control and reporting that Kerio does.

I have a solution that I use for my clients and it works very well.

I get a daily, weekly, monthly report emailed to me which shows who the data users are. The product is called Untangle. (The open source free version)

If you are in Cape Town, PM me your details if you would like me to provide a turnkey solution. (I can also send you a sample report if you want)
