basicaly that means that you need to walk to the shop and buy new LCDS1ght said:Does anyone know what it means when you're monitor starts making a high pitch sound?![]()
please explain, I don't think that TFT monitors got tubes? And AFAIK they transform the 220V into something like 20V to operate ... so how did that happened? I could be wrong though ...werner said:oh yes, dont forget that inside every tft monitor is an inverter (or even two, dpeending on how many tubes you have)...which transforms 220v into something ridiculous like 20000v and they can explode to.
LabAnimal said:heh... for you to fix that yourself will shock you badly : )
at the back of your tube is a round rubber cap, that is called the Cathode cap ( i think) what's happening is, moisture / dust got in under the cap, and its not insulated properly, and its causing the thing to ark with the actual carbon on the back of the tube. - that is causing the high pitch squeal. Best thing to do, take it in to a repair shop, because if i tell you how to fix it yourself, you might end up hurting yourself and i'll get blamed![]()
