I have the CFE-5100s lithium battery connected to my Mecer 5kw inverter.
I am currently using the "Smart Bess" app to monitor the health of the battery.
I have been advised to rather use the "Smart Energy PLAT" app but i cannot get it to work.
Anyone have experience with this app?

TIA

Why does the type/brand of app matter

As long as you can get the data it doesn't matter the name of the app

Being able to monitor is just nice to be able to see when things are gonna go of the rails

Apart from that what else does the apps bring to the table

Nothing imo

There are exceptions , if you can turn on the balance function, to run not only when charging or if the bms has an emergency feature, ie like the JKbms meaning you probably don't have to jump start a flat battery just enable emergency mode

But most all you can do is see what is going on

It doesn’t have to be THAT app of course but it’s the one the manufacturers recommend
What other app are you recommending?

Imo monitoring is just that read only. so whatever app gives you the info is fine

Sure if you can/want to change settings then a specific manufacturer recommended app may be needed

But then again manufacturers may see changing settings as warrantee voiding behaviour

I do feel a person should be able to read the info, if something starts going wrong you will be able to take action to prevent capacity loss outside of expected loss
