After much configuring, I finally got a little DRBL vm running. I've made an image which is to be distributed to a few computers.

Is it possible to have some kind of monitoring system in the hope of checking how many clients are currently connected, last few computers which were imaged successfully, etc? Something along the lines of FOG server.

Ultimately, I'd like to make a webpage of sorts which can manage the whole imaging process... again like FOG server:p Googling brings up plenty of random links which are nowhere near to what I want.

If webmin supports clonezilla then yeah it'll be fine. I just need something that hooks into clonezilla. Or rather, understand how to get relevant info with terminal commands to have it work in webmin.

Found something. Will test it out and report back.

Haven't tried the web-based administration yet, but this is just an update that may help others.

For dual-booting win 7 and ubuntu 12.04.

1. Make images using the save-disk option in clonezilla server/live.
sda6 (ubuntu) seems to fail using the recommended partclone manner to image. Using the dd option works, but obviously it takes forever.

2. Use standard hdd controllers in win 7
According to this pdf, since win 7 uses a hardware abstraction layer, all you need to do is set standard hdd controllers in device manager. Your win 7 installed on an Intel board will then work in say a Gigabyte board. Goes without saying you will have to install all necessary drivers for whatever board within the image. I can verify that this works in two different Intel boards (Q67 and Q77 chipsets).

3. Scrambled Ubuntu screen
In the event that Ubuntu has a scrambled login screen, add the --nomodeset kernel boot option to grub. However, I am sitting with a little issue whereby the resolution defaults to 1024x768 on a native 1366x768 monitor on boot (of course, it can be changed when logged in, but the login screen still defaults to an ugly 1024x768). Anyone have a fix for this?
