Monitoring Network Traffic

We want a firewall application that can do the following

  • Monitor Website Visited
  • Monitor IP Address & Computer Name That Visited Said Address
  • Block Access to Certain Websites
  • Monitor Data Usage Of Each Computer
  • Run On A Windows Server
  • Serve As Gateway For Applications To Connect To

If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. I am aware of Smart Switches/Hubs and Proxy Servers but we would like this service from a firewall.

Hi,

I would suggest to rather go for a hardware firewall that is dedicated for this purpose as you can get software applications but in my experience is not that great for this job. As was suggested to have a look at TMG

You can load this on a normal workstation, add another network card and shebang, bob's your uncle.

We use the open free version on a network of over 70 people using the internet with no issues:

ISA or TMG .... I would go with ISA
