What is MonoTouch?
MonoTouch allows developers to create C# and .NET based applications that run on Apple's iPhone and Apple's iPod Touch devices, while taking advantage of the iPhone APIs and reusing both code and libraries that have been built for .NET, as well as existing skills.
Basically this allows existing .NET developer to develop iphone Apps, without the need to learn Objective C. Code is finally compiled to ARM (iPhone processor) code so there is no distinguishing an Objective C App from one created in Monotouch (yes that means no .Net or Mono runtime is required on the iPhone).
It comes at a cost though:
Note: All the software can be downloaded without any cost for evaluation purposes, unfortunately there are evaluation routes for OSX, except for possibly hackintosh.

It comes at a cost though:
- Xcode (Apple) - Free
- iphone SDSK (Apple) - Free
- Apple computer with OSX ($$$ if you don't own one)
- Apple developer license - $99 pa
- Monotouch license (Novell) - $399 (+1 year worth of upgrades)
