As per the title, who is going?

I missed it last year, but year before was pretty cool. Had waitress's that brought the beer swiftly when required.
Food was a little expensive, and I didnt like most of the beer's that they had, but still a decent day out!

But - the beer served was brewed specially for the event by SAB - and wasn't sold anywhere else after the event.

Please tell me then where the special beers that SAB brewed were/are available outside of the festival?

I personally have not seen the Munich Dunkel, Krystal Weiss or Royal Bavaria available anywhere else.

last year was ok, we dressed up which made it fun...the food was nothing special and expensice, but if go (we are) make sure you are at least part of group...

...I think there is a craft beer fest, a week or 2 earlier which imo should be way more fun, with more brews

Not interested. Sitting in a traffic jam so that I can pay R100 just to get into a place with crude benches and fake German scenery so that I can sit and buy beer is a money making scam, mostly because I can go to any restaurant/pub at Montecasino to sit and drink beer without the R100 cover charge, or better still buy some excellent craft beers at the local bottlestore and have some friends around.

Besides which, Joburg isn't very conducive for going out for a tipple these days as the jackboots man bribery collection points all around the Montecasino area and you can bet they'll be out in full force down William Nicol during the Beerfest ready to pounce on any driver that's had more than their 0.05mg/l BAC worth. Since most people won't be spending > R500 on a private taxi given the complete lack of alternatives you can be sure there'll be more than a few.

Tasted them all last year and switched to Hansa.

hahahahha, this is exactly what we did. Had 1 of each, they were all pretty awful and then ended up drinking Hansa.

I dunno, I still quite enjoy getting everyone together and having some beers at somewhere a little different.
As for transport, thats what goodfellas is for :)
