Month-to-Month MTN Contract? (Update: Ported to TM)

Does MTN offer month-to-month contracts, SIM Only, or are they all 24-month?
I use Afrihost's Mobile Data APN which amkes it challenging to move to another Network given what I currently pay: R120pm for MTN Anytime 200 (SIM Only) + R60 Afrihost 500+500MB.

Is there another Cell provider that can offer the same voice minutes (+/- 90min) and data for the same price per month?

No worries. Just came back from porting to TelkomMobile SmartPlan 100 which included 1GB of data & 100 voice minutes for R100.

Is that on a month to month plan ?

They said so, yes. I made them fill it in as such on the form as the website says the 1GB Data is not applicable to month-to-month packagers without a handset.

Keep us posted if the 1gb is really included as claimed by TM staff.

Will do. Just waiting for the porting process to complete - it has not yet been 72-hours and the MTN SIM is still chugging along on prepaid.

P.S: Speaking of prepaid - I must say I am rather annoyed that you have to literally enter numerous secret codes (USSD) in order to enable the best call rates and top-up benefits. You are not configured for that by default, which I consider in breach of CPA, no?

Port just completed and from the pro-rata allocation it does not seem that the 1GB Telkom-only data is not allocated: 24MB remaining, expiring 1 November 2014. I will take this up with the store tomorrow. If they can't sort me out, I'll CPA-cancel the contract and re-apply for the R99 Galaxy Neo one right there from my laptop.

Any update on this?

Sorry, keep forgetting to update:
I went back to Telkom to request either a cancellation (move to prepaid) as part of CPA 7-day cool-off or to process an upgrade for me, since it is month to month. The store is NOT able to offer the R99x24mnt Galaxy Neo deal in Store as it is only available online. Not want to further complicate things, I opted for the R139pmx24mnt contract with the Xperia E1 device. This was done in-store and the 1GB All-net data & Unlimited TM-Only data (until 31 March 2015) was available immediately but not the minutes.

This deal still works me out cheaper than the MTN one I had: Anytime 200 for R119pmx24mnth (no device, including 150MB data) + R59 Afrihost 500+500MB APN data. I don't want to speak to soon but seems the TM 1GB All-net data carries over for at least a month on a first-in-first out-basis. You have to activate Roaming to use the 1GB data when the phone clicks over to MTN due to lack of coverage.

Oh, and I still have to figure out how to use the 10240MB WiFi on Android as the ROM I am running (NeatROM 4.4.4) does not support EAP-SIM Authentication.

Another update:
It seems that you deplete the 1GB All-Network data first, irrespective of whether you are roaming on MTN or not, and then start consuming the unlimited TelkomMobile-only data (10GB/month fair use).
