If there is a NeoTel employee reading this... WE NEED A MONTH TO MONTH CONTRACT!

Alot of people are not going to sign a 24 month contact.

The 24 month contract isn't such a big deal.
It's easy to get out of. Far as I know, if you cancel, you just pay them for the device and a small cancellation fee.

R80 x however many months remain out of the 24 = what u have to pay.

Really? When I called them I don't recall hearing a fee high as that. Then again, if you cancel after 12 months lets say, you pay R960, which isnt tooo terrible.
That would be 1 months access on the Prime Unlimited (which is what I'm interested in)

Then you are only paying up front which means you are still going to have an account but it will expire in 2 years time. What a waste of money for not having to use the bandwith :). I would suggest then to just keep on using it and a month before the 2 year contract is up, you tell them to cancel it.

you still give them money for nothing... a service you not receiving after you cancel! R 80 per month * months left in contract.... to click a button on a computer... "Cancel contract"

thats sounds fair!

If you want to sign up for Neotel.
Go ahead....

If you wish to cancel you only liable for the device fee which:
R40 the lite for every month of the remaining contract
R80 for the Prime.

Device Cost

Perhaps I am missing something here... but here goes anyway.

I fail to understand what all the fuss is about.
For those wanting to "buy" the device ahead of time, I recommend the following.
Take the R80 * 24 approx R2000 (seems similar to 3g card purchased via pre-paid) and put it into a 30 day call account.

Then when it comes time to cancel the Neotel "contract" give the bank 30 days notice, pay the device and with the remainder invest in the next technology.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other (with some change).

Or perhaps someone can help me with what I am missing?

I don't think you get to keep the device though if you cancel and pay the differerence,
R40/80 x n months.
