Month to Month ?

Any idea what Nowire's pricing on this is (before i call them) ? Since my contract expires soon, and iBurst is dragging their feet re. the Menlo tower, I probably will have to extend for a couple of months more. Will also check out my contract to see what happens at end of contract period.

Phone them and expect some confusion - I am in the same boat. I think if you do nothing, they will just let the contract tick over with a month's notice. I am cancelling (yes, you need to 'cancel an existing Nowire contract that is no longer in the initial contract period'. Their wording...).

I seem to remember the same thing about the "tick over". It will suit me just fine since I don't think they'll price their M2M the same as the contract prices. Will verify my contract though.

If you read the terms of the agreement, you will see that Clause 4 states that:
"This Agreement shall commence on the date of activation of the services and shall continue for the Initial Period and thereafter indefinitely until terminated by either party giving 1 months written notice to the other of termination of this agreement, provided that no such notice ma be given during the initial period."

This means that as with a cellular contract, once you reach the end of your contract period you just continue month by month. So don't change over to a month by month contract as you will pay more.

Incidentally, a month by month contract will incur the following costs:
Activation Fee R500 once off
Monthly fee: 128kbps R599 and 256kbps R799pm. Obviously you have a modem already so no need to buy that again.
