There are lies with good intentions and lies for selfish reasons. Me telling a client that she isn't irritating me is for her benefit and for mine, I don't make her sad and I keep a happy customer.

So that is a selfish lie, you lying to keep the client happy because thats what you are paid to do, you dont care about her feelings at all

Maybe I do, maybe I don't? People can drive you nuts but you could still want the best for them. Blurting out whatever comes into your head isn't honesty either, it's unfiltered thoughts.
