maybe it's time for one thread and all the afrihost be-moaning in it...

The failure of a electronic system put in place should not be for the end-user to carry. Their ticket support system is a failure, speak to the accounts dept. about issues and it is the usual pass your buck of, we will speak to the developers! The end user has every right to speak out and complain about such issues that are put in place and cannot be managed by Afrihost. Gian knows when and how to use twitter to launch/promote offerings. Yet fails to stay on top of his developers undertakings support offerings for the company and feedback on their inherent failures! I have yet to give Afrihost a compliment on feedback on their ticket system. Every complaint I have seen so far on threads are valid in their augmentation. AFRIHOST fail, come March let I hope other companies can better on their oofferings and shut the loud mouth on myBB and Afrihost failure at delivering on service to the layman.

Slander me you techno geeks. It's not like I care!

Thank you for your endorsement of my totally unsatisfactory administrative experience of AFRIHOST.

Somewhere on the page it says reboot the router/modem. Fixed the problem for me...

Reboot router?

This was my first thought.

Also second Necuno's comment on merging all the Afrihost threads, or having one thread. Looking at the amount of posts about Afrihost and Webafrica, they both should probably get their own sub-forums.

zabdnguy's post is not making sense, so I will ignore most of it. Except for the part about their ticket support system, I have used it once or twice with satisfactory resolution of my query. So just because it doesn't work for you, for whatever reason, does not mean that is "FAIL" as he so succinctly put it.

+1

Why keep creating new threads? I don't usually even bother opening them because they are usually about some rubbish 1 person is experiencing which could have easily been sorted out!!

yes please then. something like:

Afrihost issues, complaints, problems and hellfire.

I will try rebooting the router when I get back home today and then report back here if it worked or not.

change your dns settings to the open dns servers, you'll never have this issue again

Your own PC is caching the redirected dns requests so even after a topup you get the old IP
Quick and dirty solution:

start -> run -> cmd
ipconfig /flushdns

Enjoy browsing again

+1 support lacking...

I've just had this for the second time, PsyWulf's solution did not work I get this error:

Windows IP Configuration

Could not flush the DNS Resolver Cache: Function failed during execution.

Could that be becuase the DNS client service on my system is disabled? (Was recommended when having a large HOSTS file for adblocking) I guess so.

Anyway I had to reboot my router, I find it to be quite an annoying feature.

My hosts file is dejectedly large due to those same adblocking features and dns resolver cache isn't disabled
So your dns resolution cache is mucked with and you complain about an annoying feature because your dns couldn't be flushed? Oh my...

MWeb did the same, cater for the few or cater for the many, your irritation at having to clear your dns < convenience of seeing a page with a link to top up when capped
