More DTI short-sightedness

How many incompetents is the government willing to support?? This is not the first time [-]Erwin[/-] Mpahlwa and his department have royally F@#cked up!

It is seven months since the DTI introduced the quotas on 31 clothing, textile and fabric products. They were supposed to cut Chinese imports by 30% to allow local production to expand and fill the gap, thereby boosting jobs in SA.


The preliminary indications are that the plan has failed on all counts. In fact, there are instances where it has actually hurt the companies it was meant to help.

FYI, Erwin is not Minister of DTI, He is Minister of Public Enterprises (or Human Instrumentality as I like to think)

Mandisi Mpahlwa is minister of the DTI. He is royally useless.
