Anyone who has been to Mauritius, is Standard Bank operating on the island and will we be able to do ATM withdrawals from there ?

I have never been to Mauritius. I therefore wanted to know if we can use our ATM card at the Standard Bank on the island.

I would rather try and make sure before I fly out there.

God forbid I end up looking as foolish as you do, when you (who are childless) have all these "expert opinions" on how to discipline children

Well I know psychomology and I have 2 nieces and a nephew I look after on a regular basis. So I know what works and what doesn't.

We have branched into business, so I doubt 'consultant' would be an apt description at this stage. Business now takes up more time and brings in more income than consulting

You can draw money from any ATM. Credit card facilities are available all over. I usually draw about Rs5000 for a week for things like bus fares, etc., and use my CC for other shopping.

Interestingly enough, when I finally got through to Standard Bank to check on this, they said that one has to call their Risk and Fraud Dept and inform them that you will travel abroad and intend using one's credit card overseas. First time I hear of this !
