Eighteen members of the Ekurhuleni metro police had been suspended from their posts in the past year because they wanted to air their grievances about McBride, Ramotlou said.

Eleven of them were suspended for wanting to testify against McBride before a commission of inquiry appointed by the metro council to investigate complaints of corruption, abuse of power and damage to council property.

Ramotlou said some members were suspended on charges of undermining authority without the necessary disciplinary steps having been taken.

By contrast, he said, McBride hadn't been suspended even though he damaged council property when he crashed the car.

"We want him to be treated like any other member of the metro police," Ramotlou said.

"When it comes to McBride they require prima facie evidence of his guilt, whereas other members are suspended based on rumours."

And the system can be manipulated like that - who is willing to guess the outcome of a "disciplinary hearing"....
Whatever happened to the law?

Well, better late than never. McBraaid indeed.

If dirt bags that murdered Hani are put on trial, then so should scum bag McBride and his partner in crime Selebe.

Communists backtrack on Mbeki, Hani claims

But party still wants judicial inquiry into killing of Comrade Chris

THE SA Communist Party says it has never believed that President Thabo Mbeki had anything to do with the death of Chris Hani.

In an attempt to prevent a further deterioration in its relationship with the ANC, the party’s general secretary, Blade Nzimande, said yesterday that the Communist Party had never linked Mbeki to Hani’s killing in 1993 by right-wingers belonging to the defunct Conservative Party.

“We have never said (that), officially or unofficially, and we are not aware of any other member of the SACP who has actually fingered any leader in our movement as being responsible for the killing of Comrade Chris,” said Nzimande.

He blamed the media for misinterpreting the SACP’s song Thabo Mbeki siyabuza. Ngubani owabulala uChris Hani simthanda? (Thabo Mbeki, tell us: Who killed our beloved Chris Hani?) as linking the president to the former SACP general secretary’s assassination.

“We must protect the image of our president. He is our president, our head of state, and should be accorded the respect he deserves. I don’t think that we should confuse alliance debates (with) disrespect or (with the idea that we want) to tarnish the image of the president,” said Nzimande.

The ANC last week said that insinuations that Mbeki was somehow linked to the assassination of Hani were “deeply hurtful and patently irresponsible”.

Nzimande’s statement comes only days after lawyers representing the two men convicted of Hani’s killing wrote an open letter to the SACP in which they urged its leaders to meet their clients to “clear up any doubts which may still exist” about the killing.

But yesterday Nzimande said the SACP would not meet Hani’s killers, Janusz Walus and Clive Derby-Lewis. He suggested that if they had anything new to say they should approach the law enforcement agencies.

“We don’t want these guys to play political (games) : we visit them ... they turn this thing into some kind of political exchange. We are aware that they want a pardon and we have come to the conclusion that there is no need to visit them,” Nzimande said.

The SACP took offence at the killers’ ultimatum, which gave them 14 days to respond to the invitation.

“We are not accountable to criminals and murderers, but (we are) guided by our quest for the whole truth to be exposed regarding the assassination.”

Nzimande said the SACP did not believe that Walus and Derby-Lewis committed the crime alone, hence their call for a judicial inquest.

As with all members of government (think JZ), he'll get a slap on the wrist.

like i said in a previous thread...This poor country ( which was a "gem" in its time ) is up for grabs :(

Scumbag pffft!

I'm really tired of reading about him by now.

Gonna cost the tax payer a pretty penny to try all these freaking cases like defending the ends of justice ect and his comrades in parlament will just give the ****er a new job that pays him exorbitant and ridiculous amounts of money to be further corrupt.

DAMMIT!

End of rant.

I doubt The ANC ever realised who they were dealing with?
Mr Magoo is not a normal individual.

Yes his not normal his craZy:sick:

Oh and a bit sick in the uhmshloko

I doubt The ANC ever realised who they were dealing with?
I reckon they knew exactly what they were dealing with.
He is a perfect candidate for a revolutionary army, a disgruntled bullied youth from humble background, limited education, and a massive grudge/chip on his shoulder.
Who better to give explosives and a cause to?

Only problem is now is that they had to find a place to put him to reward him for murdering the civilians.
Maybe they were counting on him being executed.

He made a good weapon, but now he's just a bully who believes he can get away with anything.

A work colleague was supposedly an "arresting officer" of McBride's after the Magoo bombing.
