Hi guys,

Currently using 3x crucial 4gb ram sticks ballistix 2400mhz.

I want to buy 2x 8gb Corsair Pro Vengeance Rgb 3600mhz

Just for the aurasync

But should I add my crucial ram or just take it out and sell it?

Sell the Crucial.

If you add it, all the RAM will work at the slower speed (2400). Also, your new faster RAM will also operate in dual-channel mode, which is an additional performance increase.

Oh yes.
I forgot about dual channel
Thank you

Depends on the system, if it's Ryzen, it loooooves faster memory, if it's Intel. More memory is better.

You are currently running flex mode (Hybrid dual channel mode) it not really single channel.

I see thanks. So it is a bit slower

So if I want to benchmark my pc performance before I put this ram in what's the best way to do that.

System specs

8700 non k
Z370 a prime
3080 trio x
4k display 60hz

This reminds me I need to create a thread for assistance, my DDR3 is benchmarking at mediocre DDR2 speeds.

Sell the RAM since asking such a question you're most likely not going to need the extra memory till your system gets replaced with something that has DDR5/6, 16GB will be probably be more than enough for your use-case.

The irony is even on Ryzen unless you spend comparatively a LOT of money on the RAM faster is not necessarily faster.... they make it much more complicated than it needs to be.

If you have less than 16gb ram then more is better

If you have 16gb or more then faster is better

Wait im being told that my cpu can only take up to 2666 mhz
That's correct, the Non-K can't be overclocked so you'll be limited to 2666. However, getting 3200 now means when you upgrade CPU and motherboard later, you'll have faster RAM to use.

Wrong. The motherboard determines the speed at which the ram runs. He will need a z-series board to run faster ram. his 8700 is quite capable of running speeds higher than 3200... even 3600mhz. he just needs a Zseries board.
