More to RAM than I thought !

Anyone have a decent (in layman terms) article on RAM?

I read a few forums and wow - it's pretty complex. I see there are ratio's FSB:RAM and timings like 1:1:1:2 and everything. I even saw that the CPU determines the speed etc.

Just curious to learn a little more

what mobo's support 16 Gigs of Ram, and how much do they cost?

I was initially going to need a Crossfire board but don't care for it anymore(I know what u gonna say brawler...)

now to get my hands on 4GB Ram chips - i'm guessing 1066MHz should be fine - Don't think I really NEED Gaming ram...

or am I wrong here?

1066MHz should be fine but you are better off with 800MHz if you compare prices. Na, you don't need gaming ram but don't go budget(had to the hard way). Only (4GBx1) Sticks are Corsair and OCZ but they are typically gaming and cost an arm and a leg.
