Mortal Kombat 9 coming to PC

Mortal Kombat 9, the best-selling fighter and the game which brought bloody fatalities back to the masses, may well be seeing release on PC. Although two years late to the party, Mortal Kombat Game of the Year Edition is currently available topre-order at Amazon – they’ve even put in a price. It has a PEGI rating, it’s playable on Windows 7/XP, it’s coming out in June; the only thing that seems to be missing is an official confirmation.

It’s difficult to know exactly what’s going to be in this game, or even if it was put into the system when there were plans for a port and that it’s come up now regardless of whether that port is still being worked on. The state of the Amazon page – no description nor a picture – suggests that this is something that’s been forgotten about and accidentally put up. That doesn’t mean the facts on the page aren’t true. This is definitely a case of watch this space and hope for the best.

I own both the normal and Komplete Editions on PS3 & Xbox 360, will definitely buy this for PC as well, can't wait !

I hope this is true I <3 Mortal Kombat games ,but i'm not willing to buy a console just for it.

I've never played it myself but judging from the reviews, previews and videos it seems pretty awesome and has a much more "old school" feel which is good.

If it became available for the PC I'd definitely buy it.

One of the best fighting games i have ever played. Really really enjoyed this game on console.

If it comes to PC you HAVE to buy a remote to enjoy it fully (as with all fighting games), but ya cool news for PC and MK fans.

I remember MK1. How awesome was that! Spent many sunny Saturdays inside playing this with my friend on his Sega Megadrive.

It’s a great day today everyone. It seems that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros will be announcing the PC version of Mortal Kombat 9 in the coming days, as the game’s Steam directory has been updated last Friday. All of the game’s achievements have been transferred, therefore it’s only a matter of time until Warner Bros spills the beans.

We’ve also contacted Ed Boon about this whole thing, who did not comment at all. As we all know, Steam’s registry rarely lies and Warner Bros could easily take that directory down. Instead, the publisher has updated the directory, further proving that something is going on in the background.

At this point, we are certain that Mortal Kombat will be released on the PC. Yes, it took a while but we are happy that we’ll be finally playing it on our beloved platform.
