It's not about the light. It's about the UV frequency it emits.

Mosquitoes are not attracted to UV either.. there are little things called midges, which look like a mosquitos identical twin, which is very much attracted to light and UV and these are probably the things that make every one believe that mosquitoes are attracted to light and UV..

If you want an effective mosquito trap, get one that emits carbon dioxide/heat or both..
