Civilization (I, II, III, IV). Without a doubt the single most effective time-wasting series in the history of computer gaming. (Just one more turn... :))

That, and TrackMania Nations. (Just one more race... :D)

Then the real time addiction - Championship Manager up to cm4 and now known as Football Manager up to 2007.

To a lesser extent Guild Wars , from last year.

I'd have to say Jawbreaker on my Ipaq pocket pc, and frozen bubble on my phone :). Other than those, Americas Army and Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
 
Diablo II swallowed my life for a while. I was unemployed and depressed.

Fallout 2 is definitely up there. Start a game on a tuesday evening, "oh, i'll just do the first couple of quests" - realise when your alarm goes off on wednesday morning that it's time to go to work, and you're in Redding...

Started with Chapter 1, now it's on Chapter 3... 14 months later...

GTA3 onwards, gears of war, the sims (only for a short time), and oblivion.
 
Bugger adolescence... I'd give my immortal soul for Fallout 3.
